Thomas Butterfield received his commission asLieutenant in the Vermont militia on 25 April 1778, serving then in the companyof Capt. Ebenezer Wallace. Thomas Butterfield served from Arlington, Vermont asLieutenant in the Vermont militia company of Capt. Teham Noble, Col. Warren’sregiment for defense of the Northern Frontier from 18 April to 18 June 1779. Heresponded with the company of Capt. Jacob Hines to an alarm in December 1781.
