R:302, R:307, U:64 On 26 August 1819, Hooker Ballard and his wifeNabby of Dryden, in consideration of sixty dollars, conveyed a one-acre plot toJoshua Ballard and Abraham Dickson. On 18 March 1824, Hooker Ballard and Nabbyconveyed property to Aaron Davis for three hundred dollars. On 9 August 1830,in consideration of two thousand dollars, conveyed to Gilson Ballard severalparcels of land in Dryden which were parts of lots thirty-seven and thirty-sixin Dryden totaling about 95 acres. On 23 August 1830 (the day of his death),Hooker and Nabby, for payment of three hundred dollars, conveyed ten acres toDavid J. Hooker Ballard was born in Willington, Connecticutand later resided in Westmoreland, Cazenovia, Homer, and Dryden, New York.[1] Hooker was a tailor by trade. He is reported inHomer by 1803 where he purchased a farm on lot 45 which was along the linebetween Homer and Cortlandville. His brothers John, Joshua, Jonathan, and Sherebiahcame to Homer at the same time. Homer is recalled as living a quiet andretiring life.
