Comfort Barns served from New Ashford as private inthe company of Capt. Amariah Babbit, Berkshire County regiment of Col. BenjaminSimonds, enlisted 9 July 1777 and discharged 29 July 1777. The troops marchedto Manchester. From 22 September 1777 to 8 October 1777, Comfort served in thecompany of Capt. Peter Porter, regiment of Col.
