Military
On 21 June 1832, John Campbell, aged eighty-eightyears and resident of Westford, New York applied to a pension based on hisservice in the Revolution. In April 1775 while residing in Oxford,Massachusetts, he volunteered as a private soldier in the company ofMassachusetts militia with Capt. John Town, regiment of Col. Larnard. Thecompany was in Roxbury for three months. He next enlisted as Sergeant for eightmonths in the militia company of William Campbell, Col. Larnard’s regiment. Hewas discharged after eight months.
