Humphrey and Hannah lived in Union, Connecticut but relocated to Holland, Massachusetts where Humphrey served as deacon. When the family arrived in Holland is not clear as Humphrey held land in Holland while the family was still members of the church in Union. Humphrey was elected deacon in Holland in 1766. He also served in the French and Indian War.
