Probate
In his will written 16 January 1801 (proved 19 May 1802),John Ayer bequeathed to beloved wife Abia one-third of the real and personal estate during her natural life. Daughter Abigail receives twenty-five dollars.Second daughter Polly receives one dollar as she has received her portion.Daughter Abia receives twenty-five dollars and thirty-five dollars in household furniture. Son John receives five dollars. Daughters Phebe, Sally, Betsey, and Hannah also each receive twenty-five dollars in cash and thirty-five dollars in household furniture. If any of the daughters above mentioned should not marry, they have a right to live in the home with the executor, but the executor is then under no obligation to pay the legacies to them. Son Timothy receives all the real and personal estate and is named executor.[1]Real estate was valued at $950 and personal estate at $296.40.[1] NewHampshire.
