Probate
Stephen Harriman did not leave a will and a report on the inventory of the estate was made 22 April 1828 with the final settlement in March 1834. George W. Harriman was administrator. The heirs-at-law, in addition to George W.Harriman, were Bridget Harriman, Noah and Sarah Norton, Isaac and Mary Chamberlain, Stephen Harriman, Ira Harriman, James and Betty Hackett, Thomas Harriman, John and Sophronia Lasky, and Flanders children (Lucy, Charlotte,Walter, James, Stephen, Sarah, William, and Arthur). The real estate was sold to settle the debts of the estate. The sale of the property brought $3,465 and$1,033.97 was paid to creditors.[1]Sarah Norton, Mary Chamberlain, Stephen Harriman, and the Flanders grandchildren are heirs from Stephen Harriman’s first marriage to Lucy Story.Ohio Probate Records, Clark County, Administration Records 1828-1836, pp 62-63; Settlements 1827-1844, volume 1, pp 327-329
