George Fry

George immigrated with his brother-in-law William Torrey. They probably came on the "Charles" or the "Hopewell." George's will was written 26 Jul 1676 and probated 30 Nov 1678. His family was closely allied to the Torrey family.

"GEORGE, Weymouth, weaver, freem. 1651; in his will of 26 July 1676, names d. Ruth Torrey, w. of Jonathan, d. Naomi Yeales, d. Bethia Reed, made James Smith, senr. of W. and Timothy Yeales of Boston excors. He testif. in Mar. 1674, that he kn. the Torreys, William and Samuel at Combe St. Nicholas, Co. Somerset in 1640, when they came." --James Savage

George Fry aged 58 years or thereabouts heretofore of Comb St. Nicholas in the Realme of England, husbandman, liveing there until the yeare sixteene hundred and forty, in that yeare removed and came in the same shipp to New England with William Torrey and Samuell Torrey his sonn, both of sd Comb St Nicholas, and being arrived in New England setled & ever since have lived in Weymouth in the county of Suffolk in New England aforesd...
