Individual Details

There is much contradictory and confusing information on Abiel Lovejoy in the published genealogies, but I think what I have is correct. He was married first to Sally Eastman who died in 1801. He then married Betsy White. His eleven children reported in the Lovejoy genealogy by Clarence Lovejoy are divided between Sally and Betsy (although the Lovejoy genealogy lists Sally as the only spouse). All the children with Sally and the first with Betsy are recorded at Conway. The rest are at Lancaster, NH.

The Lovejoy book suggests that Abiel's father Abiel married Betsy White for a third wife, but that just seems wrong. I think what I have is correct. The Lovejoy genealogist reports much confusion in this branch of the family.
