Notes
Probate
In her will written 26 April 1828 (probate 17 April 1832), Lydia Osgood bequeathed to her sister Sarah Osgood the income from all of her estate, real and personal, for as long as she remains single and needs it for her support. After Sarah's decease, three hundred dollars will go to the American Board of Commissioners of Foreign Missions, one hundred dollars to the American Education Society for educating pious young men for the ministry, and one hundred dollars to the American Bible Society. Nephew John Osgood eldest son of brother John Osgood receives five hundred dollars. All the remainder of the estate is to be equally divided the remainder of brother John Osgood's children. Heirs-at-law signing their agreement with the will were Lydia Osgood (likely her mother who was still living), John Osgood, and Samuel Osgood.Essex County, MA: Probate File Papers, 1638-1881.Online database.
