In his will written 19 April 1819 (probate 18 May 1819), Abraham Poor bequeathed to wife Elizabeth use of one-third of the estate, real and personal, during her natural life. He left one dollar each to children Stephen Poor, Sarah Robinson, Mary Johnson, Frederick Poor, Elizabeth Poor, Anna Poor, Abraham Poor, Enoch Poor, and Permela Poor. Son Joseph Poor receives the remainder of the estate and was named executor. The will was proved when presented by Joseph. On 20 July 1819, son Enoch Poor challenged the will asserting that Abrahm was not of sound mind at the time of the will, the will was made by fraud and taking undue advantage of his disability, and this was not his will. The Court decided in November 1819 that Abraham was of sound mind at the time of the will and awarded a judgment of $104.20 to Joseph Poor against Enoch Poor. On 5 January 1820, Jospeh Poor filed a complaint that widow Elizabeth Poor, Sarah Robinson wife of Aaron Robinson, Mary John wife of Samuel Johnson, Elizabeth Poor junior singlewoman, Nancy Poor singlewoman, and Pamela Poor singlewoman all of Andover, had concealed, embezzled, or conveyed away certain property from the estate consisting of household items and three promissory notes. Joseph’s mother and sisters denied the allegations. In November 1821, widow Elizabeth Poor petitioned for her right of dower from the estate as she did not accept the provisions of the will. The one-third dower of the real estate was set to the widow on 10 January 1822.1
