Probate
New Hampshire. Court of Probate (Grafton County); Probate Place: Grafton, New Hampshire, Probate Estate File, William Abbott, 1807William Abbott did not leave a will. Mabel Abbott and Moses Abbott were administrators of the estate. Roger Sargent was named as guardian for William, Amos, and Anna each over fourteen years of age. Roger Sargent was also guardian for Nabby and Mary under age fourteen. The value of the real estate was $3,000 including the home farm of 57 acres on the Ammonoosuc River, 100 acres of farm land in Bath, an additional 100 acres in Bath called the Governor’s lot, 4 acres on the Connecticut River, and two pews in the meeting house. In October 1808, Roger Sargent signed that he had received from Moses Abbott and Jacob Abbott $993.15 for the portion of the real estate for William, Amos, Anna, Nabby, and Mary. Receipts of $198.63 from Jacob Abbott and Moses Abbott were signed by Silas Buck and Lois Buck, Stephen Sly and Eliza Sly, Hitty Abbott, and Sarah Abbott. Those eleven heirs had signed agreement to the division of the estate 1 December 1807.
