Notes
Biography
Richard Barker who dies in 1843 at Andover is the right age but has a widow Hannah and Hannah Abbott is supposed to die in 1840 – maybe he remarries? – he leaves no children – he remarried to Mrs. Hannah Stickney in 1842 – and he might marry a Beulah in 1841https://www.americanancestors.org/databases/essex-county-ma-probate-file-papers-1638-1881/image?volumeId=14205&pageName=32078:3&rId=37486180
possible deed related to Richard’s estate – 354:264 – yes, includes all the siblings – Gilbert Barker and his wife Priscilla, John Twycross and his wife Abigail of Dresden, Maine, Martha French widow of Cabot, Vermont selling to Ezra Abbott – the Abigail is Abigail Cogswell who marries John A. Twycross born in 1816 so she must be a granddaughter – daughter of Abigail?? – but maybe she is a daughter of Martha and a first husband Samuel Twycross?? – that does not seem to work since she is Martha is having children with William French in 1805 – can’t yet figure this out – In his will, Gilbert describes Abigail Twycross as his niece – got it, Abigail Cogswell is daughter of Hannah Barker and Wade Cogswell; Cogswells in America, p 292 and p 74
