Mrs. Pricilla J. Eastman died at her home February 10, after a short illness with the grip. She was born in Holderness January 13, 1828, and was the oldest of three children of Darius and Betsey (Prescott) Abbott. She married Charles C. Eastman February 22, 1843 and lived together 53 years, he dying on the anniversary of their marriage. They had eight children, Charles H.and Carrie S. died when infants. The surviving children are Susie A., John H.,Charles E., Freemont D., Owen E. and Curt E.Eastman. She also leaves three grandchildren, one half-sister who married Reverend George Dorr of the M.E. Church; also three cousin, Miss Anna Abbott of North Haverhill, Mrs. M.C. Wilkinson of Laconia and Samuel Burleigh of Sandwich.
The funeral services were held at the house the 13th, E.G. Gammons, undertaker,and the Rev. Mr. Avery officiating clergyman. The remains were placed in the family vault on the farm where she had lived most sixty-four years.
She was one of the best of mothers and will be a great loss to her children.She was a kind neighbor and always ready to lend a helping hand in sickness or death as long as she was able. >The Ashland Citizen, February 23, 1907, p2.
