Probate Court (Hartford District); Probate Place: Hartford, Connecticut, Probate Records, Vol 40-41, 1834-1838, probate of Mary Scarborough, p 181In her will written 17 Aug 1827 (proved 30 Dec 1835), Mary Scarborough made the following bequests: daughter Mary Thompson wife of Samuel Thompson, $1000; daughter Nancy Scarborough, $1000; daughter Sophia Prince wife of David Prince, $1000; grandson Daniel Ellsworth Scarborough son of Nancy, $50; granddaughter Mary Thompson, silver tea spoons; Mary Abbott Prince daughter of Sophia, the large bible; her three daughters receive the wearing apparel; son John Ellsworth receives all the remainder of the estate and is named executor. The value of the estate was $4,417.
