John Strutt

John Strutt was the son of Thomas and Joan Strutt. He was probably born in Glemsford, Suffolk, England. He was a prosperous yeoman, or farmer. About 1540, he married Catherine, whose parentage is unknown, at St. Mary the Virgin Church in Glemsford. They had three children, all born in Glemsford. Catherine died in August of 1578 and was buried in the churchyard of St. Mary the Virgin Church in Glemsford on August 18, 1578.
John soon married Julian Scott of nearby Fynstead. John and Julian had two children. John made his will on April 19, 1591 and must have died nearly the same day. He was buried in the churchyard of St. Mary the Virgin Church in Glemsford on the 22nd.
