Will
In Henry Butler's will written 10 July 1813, beloved wife Ruth receives all the household furnishings she brought to the marriage as well as use of one-third on the land on which he is living as long as she remains a widow. She also receives use of the easterly bedroom and the privilege of the kitchen. Son Benjamin Butler receives five dollars, son Ebenezer forty dollars, son Samuel Abbot Butler receives the sword, pistols, and all the military apparatus, son Ward Cotton Butler receives the silver tankard and twenty dollars. Sons Samuel Abbot and Ward Cotton receives 50 acres of land in Nottingham. Daughter Sally Haley wife of John Haley receives one-half of the household furniture left after the death of her mother Isabella, except the largest looking glass and the feather bed which belonged to the widow Baker are to go to daughter Dorcas. Daughter Dorcas Furber wife of William Furber receives one-half of the household furniture left by her mother. His three grandchildren Joanna Norris, Betsy Norris, and William Norris each receive one dollar. The remainder of the estate goes to son Henry Butler who is also named executor.New Hampshire.
