On 14 January 1706/7 (recorded 19 January 1714), Timothy Stevens, for love and affection he bore to his son, conveyed to Joseph Stevens,so that Timothy might “encourage him to live comfortably and to engage cheerfully with what difficulties he may meet withal and that he may be settled in a comfortable way of living”, a two-acre lot of land on which Joseph’s house and barn currently stood. Joseph also receives a 40-acre lot of woodland and meadow. On the same date, Timothy conveyed to Joseph an additional 20-acre lot for payment of £60.[1]
