John Newton Parmenter wrote is will 27 March 1812. His wife Dolly receives a cow, household furniture, and the executor is to help her move to her house in Blandford. Eldest son John Parmenter receives one-fourth part of the farm. Son Azel receives one dollar which completes his portion with what he has already been given. Daughter Elizabeth wife of Joseph Wright receives a bed and looking glass. Son-in-law Christopher Pennimen receives a feather bed and daughter Aratusa Pennimen receives a cow and the blue bed quilt. Daughter Melinda Parmenter receives one dollar which completes her portion. Son Jonas Parmenter receives three-fourths of the farm. Jonas receives the residue of the estate and is named executor.Elizabeth Wright is a daughter from his first marriage to Lydia Baldwin and Christopher Pennimen is the widower of his daughter Mary also from his first marriage. Christopher later married Melinda Parmenter (but probably a different one than John's daughter Melinda).
