Mary Foster Ballard wrote her will 3 March 1831. The will includes bequests to her brother William Foster and to her nieces and nephews who are named as follows: nephew Thadeus Brown, nephew George Brown, niece Sarah B. Gray, nephew Rev. Timothy Rogers, and niece Hannah Kidder wife of Samuel Kidder. These nieces and nephews receive money bequests of $20 except Thadeus who receives $100. The remainder of the estate is given to her two nieces who are the daughters of her later sister Sarah Brown: Mary Ballard Gould wife of Abraham Gould and Hannah Brown.
