Theodore van Winkle

Theodore VanWinkle of Branch avenue died last Thursday afternoon from a complication of diseases. He had been sick since last March. He was born in New York 66 years ago and came to Red Bank when he was a young man. For more than twenty years he was employed as a carriage trimmer in Mount Bros. carriage factory. Later he worked in A. L. Davison's carriage factory, but he gave up this position last March on account of sickness. Mr. VanWinkle was married twice. His first wife was Lydia Vorhees of Matawan, who died eighteen years ago. His second wife was Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, widow of William Johnson, and she survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Miss Jennie B. VanWinckle, who lives at home, and a sister, Miss Margaret F. VanWinkle of Rahway. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon and the body was buried in Fair View cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Alfred Wagg.
