Christopher Allen

(16 Apr 1765 - 20 Jul 1819)

Christopher and his brother Samuel came together to Hebron, Maine from New Gloucester. They purchased property adjoining the Craigie farm. The farms of the brothers were prosperous. Samuel did not marry. In his will dated April 1841, Samuel left his estate to the children of his brother Christopher: William Stevens Allen, Susan Varnum Allen, Mary Osgood Allen, and Martha Bridge Allen. The estate included 200 acres that was purchased by Christopher and Samuel from Andrew Craigie on 2 April 1811. Samuel added a codicil to his will in which he specifically cuts off other heirs-at-law, the children of several other siblings as it is his intent to leave all his property to the children of Christopher for whom he has "special regard."
