On 3 May 1854, Sarah Bluntwidow of John Blunt, Sarah then aged eighty-eight years and resident of Amherst,New Hampshire made application for a pension and bounty land based on herhusband’s service. She reported John enlisted from Andover in 1775 and was atthe Battle of Bunker Hill. He enlisted as a private in the company of Capt.John Abbott serving from 30 September 1777 to 3 November 1777 and was presentat the surrender of Burgoyne. Sarah did not know other details of his service.[1]John Blunt from Andover was credited for one month, 8 days service from 30September 1777 top 3 November 1777 in the company of Capt.
