DEATHS

In Andover, Mr. Samuel Cummings, aged 40. He set out with a load of wood early in the morning for Salem and was found a short distance from his house on the road dead, the wheel having passed over his body.

Sam (5), b. Feb. 28,1732; d. in Topsfield, 1796; lived here a while and went back to Topsfield; m. 1756 Eunice Bradstreet,dau. of Sam and w. Lucy (Abbott)Bradstreet, b. 1733; she came to Andover after 1796 with her family; joined So. Ch.,1798; after dau. Mehitabel m. she return-84 to Topsfield and d. 1811. Sam sold old homestead,1777, to John Derby of Salem And came to Andover the same year but went back to T. 1784,and bought a large farm, whlch he left to son David of Andover and gave to Sam, who expected the homestead in Topsfleld-the Andover landr and young Sam was dlsgruntled all his llfe over it. https://www.mhl.org/sites/default/files/files/Abbott/Cummings%20Family.pdf
