Case number 4951, Probate of Joseph ChandlerThe heirs-at-law providing their consent to the presentation of the will were Joseph A. Chandler and his wife Deborah Chandler, Dorcas Chandler, and Hannah Kenney.
In his will dated 28 March 1826, Joseph Chandler named son-in-law Jonathan Kenney as executor. Son Joseph Abbot Chandler had debts to the father totalling $219.34, and the bequest to Joseph Abbot is to include this owed amount. Joseph Abbot will receive a one-third part of the estate but this is to be held by Jonathan Kenney and all the profit from this third is to be paid to Joseph's wife Deborah as long as she remains his wife or his widow. After Deborah's decease, that third of the estate is to go to grandson Joseph T. Chandler. The remaining two-thirds of the estate goes to daughter Dorcas Chandler and daughter Hannah Kenney. The real estate was valued at $1,325.00 and the personal estate was $1,939,15 which included about $1,700 in cash, notes, and bank deposits.
