Richard Byfield
(1598 - 1664)
Richard was the son of Richard Byfield and his second wife. Nicholas Byfield (a leading preacher in the reign of King James I) was his elder half-brother. He entered Queen's College, Oxford in 1615; he graduated B.A. 19 October 1619, and M.A. 29 October 1622. He sat in the Westminster Assembly, perhaps appointed through the influence of his nephew Adoniram Byfield (a scribe in Westminster Assembly).
