Military
Amos Abbot served several enlistments during theRevolution and later received a pension based on his service making applicationon 28 August 1832. His first enlistment was a Cambridge in April 1775 in thecompany of Capt. Joshua Abbot in Col. Stark’s regiment with service of sixmonths. In December 1775, he enlisted from Concord in the company of Capt.Benjamin Emery with service of eight weeks. He next enlisted in December 1776in the company of Capt. Benjamin Sias of Col. Gilman’s regiment and during thisterm troops were at Peekskill on the Hudson River. In September 1777, he againenlisted from Concord in the company of Capt. Joshua Abbot for one month and inAugust 1778 in the company of Capt. Ebenezer Webster in Gen. Whipple’s brigadefor one month. During service, he was a private and later promoted to corporal.His total time of service was thirteen months.[1][1]U. S.
