Sarah had a child prematurely that died while she was in Louisiana around the time that Hezekiah died. This is related in a letter from Sarah's mother to Hezekiah's mother. Sarah was also quite ill from the same type of illness that led to Hezekiah's death. The infant lived one day. The letter that reports the death of this child also relates that the infant was christened Martha Abbott.
