The estate of Moses Wood entered probate on 8 January 1811. Moses left a will which was set aside. Moses Dorman who was named executor of the will refused to accept that trust. The will was not proved or allowed by the Court, as testimony led to the conclusion that Moses had been an insane person for the past ten years and not capable of making disposition of his property. In his will dated 2 May 1807, Moses Wood yeoman of Boxford made bequests to wife Sarah, son Nathan, daughters Sarah Low, Betsey, Permelia, Mariah, Dolley, and Lucy, and his two youngest sons Jacob and John. Real estate was valued at $5,565 and personal estate after collection of notes owed the estate was $2,185.03. Distribution from the estate was made on 4 February 1815 to heirs Sarah Low wife of Joseph L. Low, Betsy Wood, Dolly Low wife of Solomon Low, Pamela Wood, Maria Wood, Lucy Wood, Jacob Wood, and John Wood. John Barker signed as guardian to three minor children Lucy, Jacob, and John.1
