In his will written 24 December 1804 (probate 12 January 1805), Joseph Baldwin of Pelham bequeathed to beloved wife Hannah the use and improvement of one-third of the real estate during her natural life and the use of all the household furniture while she is a widow. She also receives one cow and two sheep while a widow. Son Joseph Baldwin receives forty dollars which completes his portion. Daughter Abigail Patterson receives fifty dollars and all the household furniture after the decease or remarriage of Hannah. Son Asa receives forty dollars. Son John Baldwin receives the remainder of the estate. John Baldwin and James Gibson were named executors. Real estate was valued at $1,200 and personal estate at $504.43.1
