Her parents may be James Best and Mary Frye in which case she was born in Boston in 1724. Mary Frye would be the daughter of James Frye and Lydia Osgood. And there seems to be evidence from the Gray and Abbott and Frye genealogies of Charlotte Helen Abbott that supports this.
This is also confirmed by the will of the grandfather James Frye.
There is a guardianship in 1735 at Andover for Elinor and James; not sure why that is as supposedly their father lived until 1760. But, the mother would be deceased by 1735. Perhaps they needed a guardian as they were heir of their grandfather?
