In her will written 14 September 1853 (probate 11 March 1856), Elizabeth Jennings of Haverhill left her estate of John Davis, Esq. of Methuen in trust for the use of her niece Lucy Ann Greenleaf wife of William H. Greenleaf, except for other specific legacies. Bequests of one dollar each were made to brother Jonathan Jennings, sisters Abigail Stetson, Esther Bancroft (name crossed out), Alice Brown, Phebe Cox, and Dorcas Brown, brother-in-law Stephen H. Patten and his daughter Mary Jane Patten. John Davis was named executor.1

Lucy Ann Greenleaf was Lucy A. Williams born about 1825 described in her marriage record as the adopted daughter of Elizabeth K. Jennings.1
