Probate
In his will written 27 Jul 1858 (probate 5 December 1865), Elias Pike bequeathed to wife Elizabeth the income for all the estate during her natural life. Granddaughter Abigail Grant receives one dollar. The residue of the personal estate after the death of Elizabeth is to be divided among his children Elias A. Pike, William E. Pike, George A. Pike, John P. Pike, and Edmund Pike. Wife Elizabeth was named executrix. Real estate was a dwelling house on Pike Street and a wood shed on Fair Street valued at $1,400. Personal estate was valued at $443.50. At the time of probate, the heirs-at-law list in addition to widow Elisabeth were Elias A. Pike son of Springfield, Massachusetts; William E. Pike son of Newburyport; George A. Pike son of Newburyport; Edmund Pike son of Newburyport; Abby J. Grant grandchild of Exeter, New Hampshire; Adelaide A. Pike grandchild of Newburyport; and Lizzy Ellen Pike grandchild of Athens, Maine.1Probate with will
