Military

On 16 August 1832,Benjamin Cole aged seventy-two and resident of Lewiston applied for a pension basedon his service in the Revolution. He enlisted on 1 July 1778 for six months inthe company of Capt. Benjamin Parker. He served in Rhode Island and was thereat the retreat under Gen. Sullivan. After the retreat the company was commandedby Capt. Lamont. Benjamin was discharged on 1 January 1779. In 1832, Benjaminreported he was born in North Yarmouth in 1760 and he reside there during his RevolutionaryWar service. He removed to Lewiston after the war and resided there for thepast fifty-three years. He reported he was an ordained minister of the gospeland was minister of the Calvinist church in Lewiston.[1] [1] U.
