On 14 August 1832, Thomas Edes aged 68 years and resident of Otisfield applied for a pension based on his service in the Revolution. In 1777, he served for three months in the company of Capt. Samuel Johnson, then in the company of Capt. VanRensselaer. The company was in Albany and he was present at the capture of Burgoyne. In 1780, he served six months in the company of Capt. Nathaniel Lovejoy, Col. Tupper’s regiment with discharge on 11 November 1780. Thomas reported he was born in Andover in 1763. He had lived in Otisfield for the past 40 years.
