Military
On 16 August 1832, GeorgeLittle aged 75 years and resident of Holland, Vermont, applied for a pensionbased on his service in the Revolution. On 4 July 1776, he enlisted for a termof five months from Charlestown, New Hampshire in the company of Capt. WilliamBarnes, regiment of Col. Wingate. Troops were at Whitehall and MountIndependence; he was discharged on 5 December 1776 and returned to Goffstown,New Hampshire. On 1 July 1777, he volunteered to reinforce Ticonderoga in themilitia company of Col. Moses Kelly. Troops marched toward Ticonderoga butreceived word they were not needed at returned home. In July 1778, he joinedthe regiment of the same Col. Kelly and marched to Rhode Island. He was inProvidence for four weeks and then ordered to take David Stevens, who was sick,home to Goffstown. Other information was that he was born at Plaistow, NewHampshire on 27 July 1757. George was credited with 7 months, 9 days serviceand was awarded a pension. On 30 November 1848, widow Mehitable Little aged 81years of Holland applied for the widows’ pension. Mehitable and George weremarried at Barre on 29 July 1796.[1][1] U.
