Granddaughter Margaret H. Hall receives one hundredand fifty dollars. Daughter Susannah Sawyer wife of Caleb Sawyer receives allthat is due on a note that Richard holds against Caleb. Richard Hall of Methuen enlistedon 14 February 1775 and served as Sergeant in the Minute Men company of Capt.John Davis, Col. Fry’s regiment that marched at the alarm on 19 April 1775 withservice of seven days. He served in that same company through December 1775. Hewas Ensign of Capt. Eliphalet Bodwell, Col. Edward Wigglesworth regimentserving through December 1776 when he was allowed travel home from Albany.[1]He served as Lieutenant for a term of nine months beginning 1 April 1778 in Capt.Jacob Low’s company of artificers. The company joined to army of Gen. Gates.[2]On 20 November 1818,Richard Hall, then aged 70 years and resident of Hopkinton, New Hampshireapplied for a pension based on his service. He applied for relief as an indigentofficer. The application file includes the commission as Lieutenant signed byGen.
