On 2 December 1786, Thomas Dow blacksmith of Methuen with his wife Mary, in consideration of £150, conveyed 51 acres in Methuen with all the buildings to David Sawyer of Methuen.1 The family was then in Danville, Vermont. On 14 November 1787, Thomas Dow blacksmith was of Danville when he purchased 100 acres in Danville from Jacob Bayley of Newbury, Vermont for payment of fifty dollars. On 17 March 1797, Thomas purchased 80 acres from Solomon Daniels for payment of seven hundred dollars.2

On 15 December 1814, Thomas Dow of Danville sold the whole of his farm in Danville to Dudley Swasey of Danville for twelve hundred dollars.1
