Abiel purchased property in Pelham five years before the final move. On 15 October 1770, Abiel Barker yeoman of Andover purchased 126 acres in Pelham from Jeremiah Person of Pelham for £353.6.8. Abiel purchased six acres from Asa Carlton of Pelham on 28 March 1783 and added 19 acres in a purchase from John Ferguson and James Ferguson on 8 June 1787. On 3 June 1788, Abiel of Pelham purchased 40 acres in Pelham from John Chadwick of Malden.1Deeds will be in Rockingham County
