Military
On 3 April 1818, Peter Pevey, gentleman of Greenfield aged 57 years, applied for a pension based on his service in the Revolution. In April 1777, he enlisted from Andover in Capt. Farnum’s company, Col. Tupper’s regiment for a term of three years in the Continental service. He stated he had a large family and “am worth nothing being destitute and poor.” Peter was granted a pension based on his service. On 4 July 1820, Peter Pevey, then giving his age as 61, provided additional information, then reporting his enlisting in April 1777 was in Capt. Benjamin Varnum’s, regiment of Col. John Frances. He reported his family was his wife and four children, naming three of the children: Sally age 27, Eliza age 16, and Abiel age 13. On 1 August 1838, widow Lucy Pevey applied for the widow’s pension.1He has a pension file W21929

Property
On 7 May 1789, Peter Pevey and Thomas Pevey (his brother), both laborers of Wilton, for payment of £203.5.0, purchased from John Abbot, Jr. of Andover and Abiel Abbot of Wilton a tract of land lying between Lyndeborough and Peterborough containing 175 acres. On 12 April 1792, Peter and Thomas Pevey were of Greenfield when they purchased an additional 87 acres from John and Abiel Abbot for payment of £87 silver money. On 1 June 1809, Peter Pevey with his wife Lucy sold a portion of the property to Thomas Pevey for $600.1On 23 June 1815, Peter Pevey, gentleman of Greenfield, in consideration of $200, conveyed to Peter Pevey, Jr. two tract of land in Greenfield totaling about 12 ½ acres.2
