John Kingman

John Kingman was the son of Henry and Joanna Kingman. He was born in England in 1633. He came over with the other members of the family and settled in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1635. He owned considerable land and was quite successful. He had the opportunity for a new plot of land which he took and moved to what was then West Parish of Bridgewater, but is now known as West Bridgewater. He is the ancestor of nearly all, if not all of Kingmans in the four parishes of Bridgewater and in several areas of Cape Cod.
