I am beginning to think that she is the daughter of William Dole and Mary Brocklebank. That actually seems the much more likely option. There is no daughter Mary in the probated record for John Dole. There is a daughter Mary in the will of William Dole although he unfortunately does not give the married names of his daughters. John did have a daughter Mary so perhaps she died; will need to investigate that. The death record for Mary Boynton also is consistent with a death age that would fit for Mary the daughter of William. But making this change cuts our line off from Percival Lowell -- bummer.
