Willhttps://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8996/images/007131903_00516?usePUB=true&pId=115630 In his will written 26 October 1797 (probate 14 December 1797), Samuel Langdon of Hampton Falls bequeathed tobeloved wife Elizabeth all the personal estate including notes, bonds, stock,and household items to be entirely at her disposal. Son Paul Langdon, in addition to the expenses of his education and settlement in the world, received the land and buildings in Fryeburg and likewise lots number 2 and 4 in Chatham.Paul also receives three hundred dollars. Son Richard has received a gift of the house by deed and adjoining property in Portsmouth. Richard further receives the right of land in New Durham. Granddaughter Elizabeth Langdon the only child of eldest son Samuel Langdon receives all his remaining lands in Rochester including 140 acres in lot number 58 and seventy acres in lot number 13. Elizabeth also receives four hundred dollars. Elizabeth receives any residue of the personal estate after the decease of her grandmother. The remainder of the estate is to be divided equal among son Richard Langdon and daughters Mrs. Sewall and Mrs. Goddard.
