Will
In his will dated 5 December 1805, Joel Abbott leaves beloved wife Lydia all the household items to be at her own disposal. She receives the use of and improvements on the rest of the estate as long as she is a widow. If the daughters marry and/or when sons reach age 21, two-thirds of the estate is to be divided among the children who are Elizabeth, Joel, Walter, Isaac Hotten, Lydia, and Mary Phillips.
