He left a considerable estate and shares in several vessels at his death. His assets were distributed to:

two sons of his son Joseph Grafton, Jr.,
three daughters of his son Nathaniel Grafton,
to Mary Meade,
William and Edmund Herfield,
his grandchildren Robert Kitchen and his three sisters,

Elizabeth Colyer
and Samuel Gardner, Jr.

Probate

Joseph Grafton did not leave a will. Inventory was completed in June 1671 and later presented by widow Elizabeth. The estate was divided between Elizabeth and two children. The children had grandfather Joseph Grafton named as guardian. The names of the two children are not given, and it is not entirely clear that there are just two children.
