Death
From the State of Montana Death Certificate, Birth No. 73: On 20 October 1956 he was mauled by a grizzly bear while hunting in rural Powell County in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area and was treated at the Basin Creek Airfield at South Fork Flathead River. He died sixteen hours later on 21 October from multiple thoracic and abdominal injuries, shock, and loss of blood.
