Obituary: Russell Harry Burchill was born on July 11, 1947 in Valley City, ND, the son of Harry Sol and Edna Isabelle (Petersen) Burchill. He grew up on a farm near Pillsbury, ND and graduated from Pillsbury High School in 1965. After his schooling, he farmed with his father and brother. On July 9, 1971, Russell married Rebecca Jo Flatt at Pillsbury Presbyterian Church. They made their home near Pillsbury where they farmed. In 1991, they left farming and attended Trinity Bible College, graduating in 1995. After college, they did mobile missionary church building. Upon completion of their missionary work, they made their home in Fargo, ND, where Russell worked for Case New Holland. He loved his family and friends. His grandchildren meant the world to him. If he was to ever find some free time, he enjoyed riding around on his John Deere tractor mower. He was a member of the Dazey Assembly of God Church and the Gideon’s. Russell is survived by his wife, Becky of Fargo; son, Russ Wesley (Melissa) Burchill of Fargo; daughter, Sheila (Alan) Cooke of Bloomington, MN; grandchildren, Jordan Burchill, Samuel Cooke, Jaxson Burchill, and Sophia Cooke; a brother, Dale (Cis) Burchill of Pillsbury; sisters, Luella (Murl) Boom of Hamilton, MT and Shirley (Ken) Sannes of Valley City, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leonard and Lester.
