Lars P. Olson, 86,Dies Here of Heart Attack; Buried Sat.
Lars P. Olson, 86 years of age, died at the home of his stepson, O.A. Miller, 1030 Oak Street, Thursday morning. March 12, at 7:30 A.M. after a short illness.
Mr. Olson had apparently been in good health until Wednesday when he suffered a heat attack and failed rapidly until death claimed him the next morning.
Funeral services were held from the Bethel Lutheran church Saturday, March 14, with Rev. J.H.T. Lee officiating. Interment was made in Willow River Cemetery.
Mr. Olson was born in Hemnes, Norway, June 13, 1850, and emigrated to America in the summer of 1869, at the age of 19 years, arriving at Red Wing by water. From there he trekked overland to Baldwin, where he made his home until the winter of 1927-28. He was married to Dorthea Seljeli, who preceded him in death on February 28, 1928. No children were born to this union.
After the death of his wife, he came to Hudson and made his home with his stepson, O.A. Miller until he passed away.
He was a kindy, loving man, who had many friends, especially among the children of the neighborhood, and his cheery presence will be greatly missed.
