Feb. 8, 1983. Mrs. Gertrude C. Floren, 72, of Pennock, and a former resident of Willmar, died Monday morning at Rice Memorial Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past two years.
For over 27 years she was employed at the Coast-to-Coast store in Willmar.
Funeral services will be help at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Zion Free Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dennis Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Solomon Lake Lutheran Church.
Friends made call from 2 p.m. Wednesday until Thursday noon at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Born Nov. 14, 1910, in Willmar, the daughter of Maren and Ole Nelson, she grew up in Willmar where she received her education and was confirmed at the Vinje Lutheran Church. She married Oliver Floren June 10, 1931.
Surviving are her husband, Oliver; one son, James of Pennock; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Janet) Schmidt of Becker and Mrs. Alvin (Jean) Honken of Apple Valley; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Richard Nelson of Willmar and a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Nora) Chrisman of Cedar Rapids, Ia.
