Olava Andrenne Petrusdatter
(6 Jun 1842 - 15 May 1932)
BIOGRAPHICAL:
Olava Andrenne, a half sister to Jensine Jenson, was born out of wedlock to Janelle Olsdatter in Hemnes, Norway on June 6, 1842. She married Peter R. Jacobson at Hemnes Church on May 8, 1866. With others they came to Farmington, Minnesota where they lived until 1871, at which time they moved to Lake Park, Minnesota. The journey was made by covered wagon pulled by oxen. They camped at Lake Coromorant while selecting a homestead. The site they selected was five and a half miles north of Lake Park. They dug out the side of a hill on the farm and lived in this cellar until they had time to build a log cabin. They lived on the farm, with the exception of two years, until their death on May 15, 1932. They died one hour apart. They had celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary the previous Sunday. Janelle Olsdatter, Olava's mother, is buried in a small country cemetery about two and a half miles NW of the Jacobson farm. ("Jacobson Reunion Held Sunday", 23JULY1972, Lake Park newspaper)
[An Olava Olsdatter, a female servant, age 24, is found in the household of Israel Jensen on Dalos farm in the 1865-telling for Heimnes.]
